Jazz/neo soul singer Leslie Casey is about to break out with her first full length CD under the independent label Juni Records. The music is a combination of jazz, neo soul and old school Motown R&B. The sound is fresh, captivating and will surly grab its audience with its feet stomping sound. Leslie was born May 14 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Eunice Casey (deceased) and Richard Wilson. As a young girl, Leslie excelled in academics and music. She began singing at the age of four, because of her mothers own talent and love of music. Her mother was an avid singer in her day that also played the violin. In addition, her father who had his own acappella group is still a local blues singer. So, naturally it was only a matter of time before Leslie would follow suit. “When I realized that I could sing, I felt compelled at an early age to perform on stage. Something in my heart told me, I was supposed to be doing this. It just felt right."-- Leslie With the success of the CD, Leslie was able cross paths with several talented musicians in the city who would play with her at several venues. This included Cornelia Street Café, Smalls Jazz Club, The Annex, Mobay, Yippie Musuem, The River Room in Harlem, and The Shrine.
